Our Sessions

Maybe you’ve been thinking about booking photos for your pet for a while now - or perhaps you’ve just discovered that pet photography exists; You’re curious, excited, and maybe even a little nervous!

For many of our clients, their session with us is their first-ever experience booking professional photos, and they’re not sure what to expect. Here’s an overview of what the journey looks like when you book a session with us, and what’s included.

On-Location (Outdoors)

The session begins with a friendly introduction, allowing your pet to get to know me, at their own pace, and adjust to their surroundings, my camera, and equipment. We’ll give your pet time to sniff, explore and unwind before we begin.

Our on-location sessions take the form of a casual walk through our location, letting your dog stop and explore, rest, and play. We’ll stop at certain points along the way, to take photos. Your dog’s energy levels and personality will guide how we structure the session, and what we do! For high-energy or excitable dogs, we make begin with play or action shots and move to standing or laying down shots as they relax.

We have a range of tips and tricks to grab your dog's attention and make liberal use of toys, sounds, and treats. For dogs that can’t be off-lead (which is often the case), we can have several long-line leads - providing them with some extra freedom without having to worry about recall.

Studio

Studio sessions follow a similar story, allowing plenty of time to adjust to their new surroundings, and get to know me, and my equipment. During the studio session, we’ll change through several different backdrop colours (chosen by you, in your planning appointment), capturing a range of different positions and expressions!

As your pet tires, we’ll capture some more settled poses such as sitting or laying down. Our studio has access to a private, fully fenced grass yard where pets can take regular breaks during their session.
